Sam Poulin recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick for a goal, assist and a fight in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-3 win over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in Allentown, Pa. on Sunday.
Poulin earned the primary helper on Avery Hayes' first-period goal, then scored his own 13th goal of the year later in the frame. He completed the Gordie Howe hat trick as the second-period ended, dropping the gloves with Lehigh Valley's Louie Belpedio.
Hayes had an assist along with his goal, bringing his season totals to 14 goals and 14 assists in 33 games. He ranks fifth on the team in both goals and points, and is on a five-game point streak in which he has four goals and three assists. Tristan Broz scoredhis 15th and Filip Kral his seventh in the win. Rutger McGroarty recorded two assists for the second consecutive game. Joel Blomqvist 31 of 34 shots. Dan Renouf fought former Penguin Garrett Wilson and each received a game misconduct for fighting off of a faceoff.
