"The moment of this young woman's life" ๐
Amanda Anisimova completes an extraordinary semi-final to defeat No.1 seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 and book her spot in her first ever #Wimbledon final ๐ฅ
Anisimova, now 23, was brilliant in the two-hour and 43-minute match, equalling Sabalenka in quality and digging deeper in bigger points in an exceptional performance by both players. It can't be overstated, however, that Anisimova is a tough matchup for Sabalenka, with Anisimova now holding a 6-3 career record against her, with two losses coming on clay. It's a remarkable story with Anisimova just two years removed from leaving the sport for seven months over mental health issues, struggling to regain form since returning. She even failed to qualify for Wimbledon last year. Now she will face former world No.1 and eighth-seeded Iga ลwiฤ tek of Poland for the title. ลwiฤ tek made her first Wimbledon final by trouncing unseeded Swiss player Belinda Bencic, 6-2, 6-0.
