The Steelers have signed the following undrafted free agents:
• Roc Taylor, WR, Memphis • DJ Thomas-Jones, TE/FB, South Alabama • Aiden Williams, OG, Minnesota-Duluth • Ke’Shawn Williams, WR, Indiana • Sebastian Castro, S, Iowa • Ben Sauls, K, Pitt • J.J. Galbreath, TE, South Dakota
Taylor was a productive receiver for Memphis, appearing in 43 games with 162 receptions for 2,366 yards and seven touchdowns. Taylor had 66 catches for 950 yards and two touchdowns in 2024. When he was second-team All-AAC in 2023, he recorded 69 catches for 1,083 yards and four touchdowns.
In three seasons with South Alabama, Thomas-Jones played in 36 games, recording 69 catches for 610 yards and 11 touchdowns. He began his college career at Ole Miss, where he appeared in six games in 2020 before he transferred to South Alabama.
Aiden Williams played in 40 games over four seasons, including 11 games each for the last three years. He earned second-team NSIC All-Conference honors in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He’s very athletic, earning a 9.35 RAS score. The Steelers like athletic offensive linemen.
Ke'Shawn Williams, a transfer from Wake Forest, spent the 2024 season at Indiana, recording 39 catches for 448 yards and five touchdowns. Prior to 2024, he played four season at Wake Forest. For his college career, he racked up 1,833 receiving yards, 2,640 all-purpose yards and 11 total touchdowns (10 receiving, one rushing).
Castro completes the hat trick of Iowa Hawkeyes for the Steelers. He played in 53 games for the Hawkeyes, recording 163 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 18 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, four interceptions and two sacks.
The Steelers hosted Sauls for a pre-draft visit. Obviously, Chris Boswell is the guy. But, always good to have a second kicker for training camp. Throughout his Panthers career, Sauls made 81.25% of his field goal attempts (52-of-64), with a long of 58 yards. Having kicked for Pitt, he's no stranger to the challenges of kicking at Acrisure Stadium.
Last but not least, Galbreath appeared in 45 games for South Dakota, hauling in 93 catches for 1,355 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named first-team AP All-American and first-team All-Conference in 2024, catching 32 passes for 469 yards and four touchdowns.
